Burgers and dogs for a free will donation! Round 2 (Alternate shot?) tee off time will be announced. Bring your partner! Open: $65 Am: $45 Family (Partners must be related): $30 Optional ace fund $2 per person. Open division payout in CASH, Am divisions payout in merch. Traveling trophy and bragging rights for winners of the Family division. Player's Pack with t-shirt for ALL Amateur players! At least $100 added cash! $5 from each team's entry will be donated to the OMDGA to help maintain the course, the rest goes to payout. If no ace is hit, the ace fund will go to the club. If you do not have a team name at the time of registration, one will be chosen for you. I have officially changed the Father/Child division to be a Family division. I went back and forth with this for a while, but I think that this way we might be able to get more women and kids involved. It should be clear to us that to grow this sport we need more women and children, so I'd really like to push this as a fun family event. To be partners in the Family division, you just have to be related (siblings, cousins, spouses, etc can now be partners, too). Also, lunch will be provided at the park if you want burgers and hot dogs. There will be a free will donation for the food to support the course. Even if you don't want to give us any money, we will still feed you.

Maybe in Am and pro divisions, but I dunno about the family division. I think it should be best shot both rounds. Personally, if I'm playing doubles, I don't want to play alternate shot. Others may disagree, that's just my view on it.

We are agreed that the family division should not play alternate shot (for time reasons), but for the Open and Am I think that it is appropriate. Here are my thoughts on the issue: Playing best shot, only one of the players needs to play well for their team to win. Playing alternate shot makes it so both players need to play well to win. The first seems to emphasize having a good partner, the second emphasizes having a good team. Playing best shot is fun and all, but I'd like to do something different for the format the second round to put a different kind of pressure on the teams. Alternate shot seemed to be the best option. Playing worst shot out at Hummel would just be mean. Side note: All teams should practice up at Polish Horseshoes and Kanjam (other frisbee games). Rumor has it that there will be single elimination tournaments of each during the lunch break.

I have seen 6 alt shot, 6 worst shot, 6 best shot before. I could see this happening, but as stated before, worst shot would be painful. Unless there is another way to play doubles that we could use to split it up 6/6/6, I think that we should just have the whole round be the same to spare confusion. Please help me understand your reasons for disliking alternate shot.

Posts: 2856 May 25 12 12:15 AM Am State Champ '04 Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Alternatives to the Alternate Shot format could be: Combined Score ( Both doubles member play the hole and you record the total of both scores ) Best Score ( Both doubles member play the hole and you record the best of both scores ) Worst Score ( Both doubles member play the hole and you record the worst of both scores ) Average Score ( Both doubles member play the hole and you record the average of both scores ) I like Alternate Shot myself, but these are format ideas I've been curious to try in the past. Great idea for a tournament by the way. Hope you guys get a nice big turnout.

For the alternate shot, one team member will tee first on all of the odd numbered holes and the other member will tee first on the even numbered holes. After the tee shot, teams will take turns throwing until each hole is completed. I agree that the alternatives presented would be fun, but they may be quite time consuming. Rounds should be completed pretty quickly using these two formats.

ALL money that exceeds the cost of the discs will go toward payout. There are wizards and magics available, all colors are shown below. The four on the left are the colors of wizards, the five on the right are magics. The firmness ranges from medium to SSS for both molds. All of these discs are super grippy. Buy one for $10, three for $25, or five for $40! Send me a message on here or Facebook if you would like me to hold some back for you. I'll be out at Seymour selling them at various times before Father's Day, or catch me on the course. I'll bring them to the Tuesday Handicap League at Hummel as well.

In family plan, a high end golfer is scoring like playing alone with occassional assistance with errant shots. Because I just like the play, and don't need to win (smile), I am interested in alternate -- and because the day likely includes other family commitments, speeding up the 2nd round seems welcome. My son doesn't play much but I am certainly willing to live with his alternate shots - sounds like fun.
